Wedding caricature of my sister

A4 size wedding caricature of my sister.
Medium used: Colour Marker on white paper.
Type: Face with cartoon body & background.
Purpose: Print on wedding invitation card.

This is a gift from me to my sister who married a American in 2006. They live in California U.S. I did two coloured versions(top & bottom)for them to choose from. The one on top was done 100% manually as usual whereas the bottom one was done using photoshop airbrush on the manually drawn outline drawing.Guess which one they choose for their card printing? The answer is the fully hand-drawn one(top),of course. This shows that hand-drawn caricature is still the preferred choice not only for my own sister but also for most of my customers. Many people still value the traditional method when it comes to this type of artworks although we are now living in a digital age .The idea of having a digital portrait or caricature drawing is still unpopular especially in this part of the world. So far there is no demand yet as people think that a digitally drawn artpiece has no authenticity. This is the reason many people wonder how a full time artist like me can survive in this digitally environmental Singapore.
Meanwhile,to cater for customers who seek digitally coloured caricature in the near future, I will be doing more samples to add to my variety of mediums use. Coming soon...
