Portrait of Mr Lim Boon Heng.

A2 size portrait of Minister Lim Boon Heng done from photograph.
Medium used: Charcoal on white paper.
Client's purpose: Farewell gift.

A gift from Mr Lim's colleagues for his departure as the boss of NTUC. Apart from the drawing, they ordered a custom-made picture frame to go with it. As a gift to a VIP, the resemblance level needed to be very high, so I was very careful when capturing the features of Mr Lim.
Again, it was a success & I was very delighted to see in the newspaper a few days after the collection that my portrait was among other gifts presented to him on the day of his deaparture.

On-site caricature drawing service.

Event: Pre-Chinese New Year Event.
Date of event: 1 & 2 Jan 2010.
Venue: Fusionopolis Building, Singapore.
Duration: 3 hours per day(11pm to 2pm).
Average drawing speed: 6 minutes per head.
Theme: Chinese New Year.

This event was held at the atrium of Fushionopolis building in Buona Vista. It's meant to be a free-for-all to people who work in the building. The crowd was form during lunch hour. Apart from caricature, the client hired 2 other artists to entertain them. The one sitted beside me was Madam Tang, a paper cutter & the group of artists who were stationed opposite was Chinese Charater writers.

The huge building of Fusionopolis.

The atrium was quite empty when I reached there.

The session begins...

I was busy caricaturing one of the lucky ladies who got it for free.

Mdm Tang was preparing her art pieces to be given out free.

The group of Chinese Character artits were working non stop.

Individual caricature.

A4 size caricature of a little girl from photograph.
Medium used: Color-marker on white paper.
Type: Face with cartoon body & background.
Client's purpose: Casual gift.

The American Filipino client did this caricature as a gift for his daughter. He is a marine & was in Singapore during a stopover. This was the second time he did a caricature from me to be brought back to the US. The first piece was a family caricature of himself manning the warship with his wife & daughter. Looking forward to his third piece...

Individual caricature.

A2 size caricature of uncle playing soccer (done from photo).
Medium used: Color-marker on white paper.
Type: Face with cartoon body & background.
Client's purpose: Birthday gift.

The subject is not an ordinary uncle trying to play soccer. In fact, he is the boss of one of Singapore's S-league football teams, Tampines Rovers. Apart from that, he is also the boss of Komoko Motors that distributes Hyundai cars in Singapore. Quite a well known person who appears in the local paper frequently.
His employees came & did this in a urgent manner so that it could be framed up & presented to him during the party. So, he's the boss, not the player...

Caricature of Lim Boon Heng

A3 size caricature of Minister Lim Boon Heng.
Medium used: Color-pencil on white paper.
Type: Face with cartoon body & background.
Client's purpose: Corporate gift.

The lady client wanted a caricature to be presented to Mr Lim during his farewell party as NTUC boss. She was so particular with the resemblance & worried that it might not turn out well simply because Mr Lim is a VIP. When she came to collect it, she was so relieved that I got it spot on. I was happy to see yet another client who walked out of my shop smiling, at least.
