Wedding caricature done from photographs.

A4 size caricature of a wedding couple done from photos.
Medium used:Colour-marker on white paper.
Type: Face with cartoon body & background.
Client's purpose: For memory sake.

This swiss couple was once working here in Singapore. They were married & planned to settle down back home. In order to have a fond memory of this tiny red dot, they did this caricature for that purpose. They saw my previous work & liked the design to be the same as the one I did for Noshir & his friend.

On-site live caricature drawing event.

Event: Lundbeck (Investigator Meeting Welcome Dinner).
Date of event: 24 Oct 2008 Friday.
Venue: Upper Club, Chijmes, Singapore.
Duration: 4 hours (7.00pm to 11.00pm).
Average drawing speed: 3 minutes per head.

This event required me to caricature about 70 guests, so I proposed a 4-hour session in order to capture everybody. I was at full speed of less than 3 minutes per drawing for the first 2 hours but slowed down at the third 'cos almost all of them had been drawn by then. Apart from a group of vocal performers, I was the only entertainer. The event ended at 10pm although they had engaged me till 11pm. After the session, the client invited me & my girlfriend who assisted me that evening for a delicious Indian buffet meal.

The main entrance of Chijmes.

There are lots of open air restaurants at the lower deck.

The Upper Club was at the 2nd. Storey of the building.

I was in full concentration capturing one of the guest's feature.

The atmosphere during the dinner.

The singers performing without any musical instrument.

As we were leaving the premises of Chijmes after the event, I managed to shoot a nicely composed picture of the building.

Couple caricature.

A2 size caricature of a police couple done from photographs.
Medium used: Pastel pencil on off-white paper.
Type: Face with cartoon body & background.
Client's purpose: ROM gift.

The couple might have known each other in the Singapore Police Force when they were patrol partners. The client requested me to draw the handcuffs as a humorous way to lock them together. To add more fun on it, I gave them a convertible Toyota car so that their heads could get closer to each other.

Photo taking session at Sentosa Island,Singapore. Part-3.

After spending the whole evening taking pictures that Sunday, I felt a little hungry & tired. My photography kaki, Henry & I decided to head for our dinner elsewhere as the food in Sentosa was a bit pricey. On our way to the carpark, I managed to take a few more shots of the surrounding. We ended up having our meal at a kopitiam in Jurong East together with my girlfriend.

Just before reaching the carpark, this well designed exit signage & the palm tree caught my attention, I snapped it as well.
