This was a hot date for me as I did 2 jobs in a roll. The other one was in the evening. It was quite tiring to do 2 events especially one of them was a 3-hour session. All together, 4 hours of full concentration for me but I dared not complain as these jobs came in the midst of the reccession.
Shanghai Chong Kee is a big time interior renovation company in Singapore. The moment I reached there & saw the signage, it reminded me of my days working for an interior contractor's firm about 20 years ago. SCK was one of our fierce competitors tendering for various projects then. Knowing the gambling habit of the workers, I was quite amused that this company had turned the whole restaurant into a mini casino just to entertain its carpenters & joiners as well as naming this event as the Integrated Getaway 2009.
My friend, Henry, was there too to help me on some photograph taking. It was coincident that Henry was working in the same line & for my ex-company too but he wasn't my colleague then b'cos he left before me. I befriended him only when I joined the next interior design consultant firm where he was working some 4 years later. I guessed we were fated to meet & become friends as well as photography buddies now. Just like me, this particular event reminded him of his good old days.
This 3-hour session was supposed to start at 3pm but it was being delayed for 15 minutes just b'cos we had to wait for the last customers to finish their meal. As this was not a speedy service, I took my time & enjoyed the whole session by giving them caricatures of better quality.
The main entrance of the Kallang Leisure Park.
The restaurant entrance at level 1.
The event signage.
The session starts...
The cosy corner where I was seated.
The nail art corner with some female guests waiting for their turn.
The atmosphere during the event.
Each of the gambling tables was operated in such a manner that it felt like the real stuff.
Everybody was so focused on their bets.
Credit to Henry for his assistance for this event.
