Coloured portrait done from Black & White photograph.

A2 size portrait of mother & son.
Medium used: Solf-pastel on off-white paper.
Client's purpose: For memory sake.



This portrait was done in 2001.To date, I have done quite a number of such portraits.From black & white photograph to coloured portrait is not an easy job.I have to imagine the colours in order to match the time or era of the photograph taken.For instance, the colour of the clothings should have the feel of the 60s.Green colour was used for the background simply because Malay people like it.
