On-site Caricature Drawing Service.

Event: Patterns Of Trade.
Date of event: 13 & 14 Apr 2012 (Friday & Saturday).
Venue: Asian Civilisation Museum, Singapore.
Duration: 6.00pm to 9.00pm (3 hours).
Average drawing speed: 6 minutes per head.

This was the 2nd engagement from National Heritage Board for their public exhibition in their museum. Unlike the 1st engagement, I got to sit comfortably with a table this time round & my performance was definitely better. The environment was almost the same with dim lighting throughout the the 3 hour session in which the visitors got to do their caricatures free of charge. What a treat from NHB.

I was seated comfortably on 13 Apr.
Here are some of my caricatures  for your viewing...

On-site caricature drawing service.

Event: Patterns Of Trade.
Date of event: 16 & 17 Feb 2012 (Thursday &  Friday).
Venue:  Asian Civilisation Museum, Singapore.
Duration: 6.00pm to 9.00pm (3 hours).
Average drawing speed: 6 minutes per head.

I was hired by Singapore Heritage Board to draw caricature inside the Asian Civilisation Museum during their textile exhibition for 2 days in a row. The free caricature session was meant for those who walk in for the exhibition. The experience of drawing in the museum was not a good one simply because the environment was too dim to do a good job. It was not allowed to brighten the place for this purpose. Moreover, the way I was seated holding my clipboard was also not comfortable, hence, difficult to perform well.
Fyi, I was hired again for another 2 days in April due to popular demand. This time it was better as they had arranged a table for me. At least I was more relax without having to hold my clipboard but too bad they couldn't do anything on the lighting issue . I hope they would arrange a better location for me in future if I ever being hired again. ;)

Portrait of an old Indian couple.

A3 size portrait of an old Indian couple.
Medium used: Soft pastel on white paper.
Client's purpose: For memory.

This portrait was done using 2 different photos provided by the client who is the son of the couple.
These were the best photos he could find but there is a gap in the couple's age where the husband looks younger than his wife. He got no choice but to proceed with whatever he got in order to remember his deceased parents as a couple in a painting simply because his parents didn't have any photo taken together during their old age. At least my talent has given that guy something that money can't buy... the memory of his late parents.

On-site caricature drawing service.

Event: Max Mara-Fashion Launch.
Date of event: 3 Mar 2012 (Saturday).
Venue:  Ion Orchard, Singapore.
Duration: 3.00pm to 5.00pm (2 hours).
Average drawing speed: 6 minutes per head.

Did a gig in a fashion shop at Ion Orchard shopping mall. I was required to draw their invited customers on cards provided by them during a fashion show in progress. It's difficult to focus with beautiful Caucasian models walking around you, right ;). Well, being a professional caricaturist, that didn't affect me. In fact, I did quite well on my caricatures, just like James Bond haha...
In between those very short breaks during the 2-hour session, I managed to double-up as a fashion photographer by shooting the models while seated at my chair. Just for the fun of it since I was there. Will be sharing some of them with you guys...

These are the cards I was required to draw on.
