Individual caricature for Kraft.

A3 size individual caricature done from photograph.
Medium used: Colour-pencil on white paper.
Type: Face with cartoon body & background.
Client's purpose: Farewell gift.

On behalf of the company, a staff from Kraft did this caricature as a farewell gift for a colleague who was leaving the Singapore office. She was transfered back to Melbourne, Australia, so some images of Singapore as well as Melbourne were being included in it. As requested, the subject was drawn in a cable car with the 'Kraft' logo on it & waving goodbye while holding the Aussie flag.

Portraits of old people.

A4 size portraits of old folks done from photographs.
Medium used: Charcoal stick on white paper.
Client's purpose: For memory sake.

Relatives of both the subjects who passed away some time ago came to do charcoal portraits for remembrance purpose. Photographs of the subjects which they provided were taken in small groups during family gatherings. My job was to draw them individually using the charcoal medium so that they could have them framed up & hung on their wall.

On-site caricature drawing service for Great Eastern D&D.

Event: Great Eastern Dinner & Dance 2011 .
Date of event: 12 Nov 2011 (Saturday).
Venue: Ritz Carlton, Singapore.
Duration: 5.30pm to 6.30pm (1 hour).
Average drawing speed: 6 minutes per head.

My caricaturist friend, Jit, sought my service to do the manual caricature drawing while he did the digital caricature using his ipad. Ivan & his brother were there too doing the body art.
During the session, I was seated at an awkward position & it affected my work a little. Luckily it was only an one-hour gig otherwise my legs would be numb after the session.

On-site caricature drawing service.

Event: HSBC Private Bank Annual Dinner 2011 .
Date of event: 4 Nov 2011 (Friday).
Theme: Pop Star- The World Is Your Stage.
Venue: A Hotel in Sentosa Island, Singapore.
Duration: 7.00pm to 11.15pm (4 hours & 15 mins).
Average drawing speed: 5 minutes per head.

I was originally engaged by my friend Ivan for 2 hours but the service was being extended to another 2 hours & 15 minutes due to overwhelming response. The event required 2 artists & Ivan himself was the other artist who partnered me. It was a surprise to me as I didn't know that he could draw caricature too. What a multi talented person he is.
In this pop-star themed event, we were required to draw the guests faces on the client's paper with pre-drawn celebrities bodies which were prepared by Ivan.
The event emcee was a local celebrity by the name of Moe Alkaff whose TV programme 'Got Cha' was very popular in the 80s. Although I was busy during the session, I could feel that the guests were having lots of fun inside the ballroom.

The hotel where the event was being held but I can't remember the name.

On-site portrait sketching service.

Event: Italian Theme Cocktail Party.
Date of event: 3 Nov 2011 (Thursday).
Venue: Singapore Tyler Print Institute, Robertson Quay, Singapore.
Duration: 7.00pm to 10.00pm (2 hours).
Average drawing speed: 15 minutes per head.

A 2-hour gig drawing portrait in the open at a junction where the event was held. My service was arranged in such that it consists of 2 sessions with an hour break. It was drizzling a little in the beginning but cleared after a few portraits drawn.
Because the client wanted an Italian theme, they arranged to meet up one day before the event just to see whether the costume they'd prepared fits me. So did all the Caucasian models hired for this particular event. Apart from that, they even prepared an artist table with an easel by the side to make it more like an Italian street artist at work.

On-site caricature drawing service for DHL.

Event: Corporate Dinner for DHL.
Date of event: 21 Oct 2011 (Friday).
Venue: Fairmont Hotel, Singapore.
Duration: 6.30pm to 7.30pm (1 hour).
Average drawing speed: 6 minutes per head.

An hour gig at The Fairmont Hotel in Raffles City Tower was held at the poolside. The early guests were reluctant to have their faces drawn, thus wastage of 15 minutes was unavoided. Once it started rolling, the fun came as I was in great form that evening. The smiling faces I drew in my caricatures are the tell-tale sign that my form was indeed great.
As usual, it ended with some disappointed guests who couldn't have theirs drawn due to limited time. I wished they extended my service but they didn't. ;)

Upon arrival at the main entrance of Fairmont Hotel.
